![]() I'm proud to announce my debut picture book, Who Will? Will You? was published by Blue Whale Press in August 2019. Blue Whale Press is a small company from Texas, and they are wonderful to work with. The illustrator for the book is the awesomely talented Milanka Reardon. Her illustrations are perfect and so much more than I ever could have imagined. Links to buy Who Will? Will You?: Indiebound Amazon.com Barnes & Noble Booktopia Books-A-Million Teachers and parents can download the activity book, made by Blue Whale Press. You can even check out the book trailer! "Reardon’s realistic pastel-and-ink illustrations, populated with humans with a variety of skin tones, do an excellent job of hiding the identity of the pup and showing the adults’ shocked expressions. Hoppe uses clever science-related questions (“Does the pup have super-cool senses to help find its food?”) to encourage readers to guess the animal’s identity and to think about how different animals share similar qualities. A beautifully illustrated tale that’s sure to appeal to animal lovers and budding environmentalists.” —Kirkus Reviews “A fun, unexpected conclusion teaches kids not only about shore life, but about what makes a welcoming home for a stray. Kids who love beaches and parents who love thought-provoking messages will find “Who Will? Will You?” engrossing and fun.” —Diane Donovan, Sr. Reviewer, Midwest Book Review Check out the Journal section of this site to see a list, with links, of all the interviews I've done for this book.
NEW! Blue Whale Press and Clear Fork Publishing have joined forces, and Who Will? Will You? is available through them.
I have a few more completed stories, looking for a home, and I've got several ideas I'm working on at the moment. I am currently seeking an agent, and have several manuscripts on submission.

I also love taking pictures of old buildings and other man made structures in nature. My son was taking a class at the Mantorville Art Guild, while I walked around town. Mantorville is full of beautiful old buildings. The Art Guild wanted something showcasing these wonderful old buildings, and I was happy to provide some photos. Here are the photos of Mantorville, along with some of my other favorite structures in nature photos. Enjoy, and head on over to my Etsy shop if you want a print of one of these old buildings or a nature shot. You can also see more photos on my Instagram page. |
